The Pella Sietas shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, has begun installing Alfa Laval scrubbers on four German bulk carriers.
The shipyard, formerly known as the JJ Sietas shipyard, was acquired by Russia in 2014 and became the first such modification of the equipment system after the acquisition. The four ships were built by the shipyard between 2005 and 2010.
It is reported that each ship's scrubber modification work cost 300-3.5 million euros, installed PureSOx equipment, and Russia's largest contract after acquiring the oldest private shipyard in Germany in early 2014.
It is understood that of the four modified ships, three are the chartered vessels The 33, 174dwt charter ships "Fitnes", "Beltnes" and "Bulknes", all of which are 33,174 dwt self-loading ships, 175.6 meters long, using The MaK 8M 43 engine, with a power of 7.3 MW, was modified for the Reederei HJH ship management company. The fourth ship is the 26100 dwt "Sandnes", which is slightly smaller than the first three ships, but also has a loading capacity of 3,000 tons / hour.
Alfa Laval offers a single-output PureSOx mixing system with a processing capacity of 54,500 kg/h, a width of 2.6 m, a height of 8.3 m and a length of 5 m, which can reduce operating costs for HJH, which is currently consumed annually by the company's fleet. 26,000 tons of fuel.
