Overview of processing technology for aluminum and aluminum alloy materials

Since the 1990s, China's aluminum industry has developed rapidly, its scale has expanded rapidly, and its output has continued to grow. By the end of 2002, the annual production capacity of aluminum processing mainframes had reached nearly 5 million t/a, and the comprehensive production capacity was 3.77 million t/a. The actual output of the year was 2.88 million tons. At present, Chinese companies can produce more than 140 kinds of aluminum alloy grades, more than 2,400 species, more than 14,000 specifications of aluminum products, aluminum products are generally able to mass production.

Different from developed countries, China's existing aluminum processing products are mainly extruded products such as aluminum profiles and aluminum tubes. In 2002, the output of aluminum extrusion products exceeded 1.5 million tons, accounting for 55% of aluminum processed products; and aluminum rolled products. The production development is relatively lagging. In 2002, the output of aluminum strip was only 500,000 tons, accounting for about 20% of aluminum processed products; the output of aluminum foil was 280,000 tons, accounting for 10%. The production of high-tech aluminum strip products is insufficient, and the structure of aluminum processed products cannot meet the needs of economic development.

In the past ten years, after a large-scale technical transformation and new construction, the level of technical equipment in China's aluminum processing industry has been greatly improved. Through the introduction of advanced technology and equipment from Germany, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy and other countries, the level of stand-alone equipment for aluminum strip and aluminum foil production of some enterprises has kept up with the most advanced level in the international contemporary. However, the construction of the multi-stand hot strip rolling mill was not started until 2003, which led to the lack of production of high-quality billets in the production of aluminum strips, which restricted the development of aluminum strip production in China. It is expected that the heat of Southwest Aluminum (Group) Co., Ltd. in 2005 is expected. After the continuous rolling unit is put into production, it will promote the structural adjustment of the aluminum processing industry in China to a certain extent. Other domestic enterprises are also preparing to build a modern hot rolling production line. With the completion and production of the hot strip rolling aluminum strip production line, the production capacity of China's aluminum strip will increase by more than 1 million tons, which can basically meet the needs of domestic economic development.
