According to data released by the General Administration of Customs on August 10, 2012, China's natural rubber imports in July were 170,000 tons, an increase of 30.77% from the 130,000 tons in the same period of last year, an increase of 6.25% from the previous month. From January to July, China imported 1.16 million tons of natural rubber, an increase of 15.4% from 1 million tons in the same period last year. In July, China's rubber import amounted to USD 551,549, and the cumulative amount from January to July was USD 3,967,417.
In July, China's import of synthetic rubber was 118,467 tons, an increase of 6.69% compared with 115,744 tons in the same period of last year, an increase of 2.35% from the previous month. From January to July, China imported 838,593 tons of synthetic rubber, down 0.5% from 843,157 tons in the same period of last year. In July, the amount of rubber imports in China was 447,419 thousand US dollars, and the cumulative amount from January to July was 3,123,736 thousand US dollars.
It is also understood that in the first half of the year, China imported 990,000 tons of natural rubber, an increase of 13.79%; synthetic rubber 720,128 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.63%.
