Invested 1.5 million euros to develop European auto valve technology

One of the biggest problems encountered in the exploitation of crude oil in old oil fields is that crude oil is often accompanied by excessively high proportion of water or various gases that should not enter crude oil production pipelines, and it is easy to exceed 65% of crude oil extraction. The cost line can only take additional interventions or shut down the well directly.

Recently, the EU’s seventh R&D framework plan has provided 1.2 million euros, and total R&D investment was 1.5 million euros. The R&D team is composed of eight innovative SMEs from Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden, successfully developing a low-cost, simple and practical crude oil. Mining pipeline automatic valve technology can effectively prevent the interference of water or gas on crude oil production.

The working principle of the automatic valve technology is to embed the corresponding automatic sensing device. When the water or gas reaches the threshold, the valve will be automatically closed to prevent it from entering. When the external conditions meet the requirements, it will automatically open again. The R&D team has completed parameter testing of various indicators such as reservoir-resistant environment, plugging, corrosion, and safety reliability of automatic valve raw materials, components, and integral structures, so as to determine the optimal cost-effective automatic valve prototype design and production.

The valve prototype has been verified through on-site adaptability of different light, medium and heavy oil fields, which can effectively increase the crude oil extraction rate, save the cost of crude oil extraction, and even allow some of the closed wells to “return to life”.
