Survey shows that only 8.8 percent of the owners detected tires before traveling

In response to the harsh driving environment in which there is a lot of rain and snow in winter, low temperatures, and complicated environments, Hankook Tire recently launched a survey on winter safety driving. According to the survey, 97% of car owners will visit relatives and friends at the end of the holiday season. However, for the wet road conditions with serious winter safety hazards, only 8.8% of Chinese car owners wear the tires before they travel. According to the tire pressure check, 58.2% of the owners are willing to replace the winter tires.

According to the survey, although nearly 48% of the survey respondents indicated that they would drive for 2-6 hours during winter vacations, 68% of them indicated that they would check if the tires were all normal before departure. In China, the proportion is even lower, with only 8.8% of car owners conducting tire inspections before long-distance travel. Hankook Tire recommends that the owner keep the tread depth at 2.8 to 4 mm to maintain maximum safety.

Similarly, although 90% of car owners have realized that tire pressure is one of the most important factors affecting driving safety, only 69% of them said they would check whether their tire pressure is normal before the holiday. Under-inflated tires increase friction with the ground, while the temperature of the tire rises, causing the tire to wear more, causing the tire to be damaged prematurely. Excessive tire pressure can make the tires less comfortable, difficult to drive, and cause damage when driving over bumpy roads.
